Weight Settings & Deviation
What is weight deviation?
When Pickpad predicts an order's weight from the catalog, it also calculates an acceptable range around that prediction. If the actual weight measured by the scale falls outside this range, Pickpad can flag the order as potentially incorrect.
The deviation is expressed as a percentage of the predicted weight and an optional absolute gram value.
Where deviation is configured
There are three levels, applied in priority order (highest wins):
| Level | Where to set it | Applies to |
|---|---|---|
| Dish | Catalog → Dishes → edit a dish → Allowed Weight Deviation, (%) | That specific dish only |
| Category | Catalog → Categories → edit a category → Allowed Weight Deviation, (%) | All dishes in that category that have no dish-level override |
| Account | Settings → Allowed Weight Deviation, (%) | Everything with no dish or category override |
If a dish has no deviation set, Pickpad looks at its category. If the category has none either, it falls back to the account default.
Account-level defaults
In Settings, two values control the global fallback:
| Setting | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Allowed Weight Deviation, (%) | 5% | Percentage tolerance applied to predicted weight |
| Weight delta (abs) | 5 g | Fixed gram tolerance added on top of the percentage tolerance |
These apply to any dish or modifier that has no category or dish-level override.
